What is Provable Fairness?
Provable fairness is a key principle in online gaming that ensures game outcomes are determined by a transparent and random process, free from manipulation by operators or external parties. This guarantees that all players have equal odds of winning and that every result is genuinely unpredictable.
How Do We Ensure Provably Fair Bets?
To maintain fairness, SBX utilises a combination of the following cryptographic components:
- Server-side Seed - Generated by our server and is unique to you. Your active server seed can be freely rotated out as often as you want.
- Client-side Seed - Starts as a random string but can be updated by the player for additional randomness.
- Nonce - Incremental number unique against the server seed that changes with each bet. When the seed gets changed this number will go back down to 1.
When a game is played, these three components are combined and used as inputs for the random number generator. The resulting output determines the game's outcome. By leveraging this approach, SBX ensures that no party can alter or predict results, maintaining the integrity of the game.
